Keeping Your Keratin Hair Treatment Looking Great at the Gym

Going to the gym or working out at the track or outside offers a great opportunity for you to show off your Brazilian keratin hair straightening treatment. But if you want to keep your hair looking incredible, there are some steps you need to take.

Choose the Right Workouts

You want to get a great workout, but you don’t necessarily want to sweat a lot because that could affect the way your hair looks. One solution is to stick to strength-based exercises such as weight lifting, Pilates or core strength training.

These will build strength, get your heart pumping, and burn calories. But they won’t necessarily cause you to sweat through your workout outfit. Plus, if you feel yourself getting overheated, you can slow down or take a break.

Sport a Ponytail

To keep your keratin-treated hair at its best, keep it out of the way. Pull your hair back into a ponytail and hold it in place with a scrunchy or bobby pins.

Not only will this keep your hair out of your face so you can see better, but it will decrease the chances that it will get caught in machinery.

Plus, a ponytail will help sweat evaporate through your hair. It’s a good idea to also keep a towel nearby so you can dab the base of your hairline and the back of your neck.

Wear a Headband

The ponytail and headband look may not be the most attractive, but it will help keep you from sweating. Wearing a sweat-absorbing headband can prevent perspiration from falling down your face and neck. It also pulls it away from your hair.

Prepare for Your Workout

Apply a dry shampoo to your roots before you head out the door for your workout. This will prevent moisture from transferring from your scalp to the rest of your hair.

Powder-based dry shampoos are better for absorbing sweat than aerosols. Plus, they won’t dry out your hair.
