Are we really not as attractive as we think we are?

They say we look at ourselves 6 times more attractive than we really are and they have done studies on it. How is that possible when a mirror shows our exact reflection and our own eyes see that image?
I guesss it's not really what we see, it's more of how we see it. For example, one's personality can either make him look more attractive or less attractive, so some people might see differently. One's perception of him/herself changes a lot, too. If you're confident you see yourself as attractive, otherwise the opposite is true. One more thing is that you're used to seeing yourself all the time so that plays a big role too, because you're already familiar with your features.
Sometimes people take pics on snapchat of me and send it to people and i look at it and im like wow am i that ugly lol... Hate when people take pics if me without me knowing
I've thought about your question and i think its the fact that when u look in a mirror u generally only make one face and show ur best side. But in reality when talking and joking around u make many differance faces. And generally stand looking directly at youself but others see you from many other angles. I think how often people hate their own photos proves this point. Try talking to yourself in the mirror and turning to see yourself from a differant angle, and see how much less attractive you are then ur normal "good looking" face/side.
"they" say alot of things. A mirror's reflection is different to what everyone else sees. Google truemirror
