I'm kind of confused on what Clay's stance was on slavery. Was Clay antislavery, proslavery or neutral? At first I thought he was proslavery because he did own slaves but he wrote the two Compromises to keep everything equal between the antislavery North and proslavery south. Would that mean that he is antislavery then?
