Hi, Car (2000 Civic LX automatic transmisison) doesn't accelerate fast enough at a red light. I step on the gas, and the rpm doesn't rise as fast. The car changes gear at right speeds. At 60 mph, rpm is 2800. I fix my car myself. I made sure exhaust system, fuel system, and engine are all clog-leak free. One thing is that fuel pressure is 4 psi lower than factory range - not a big problem. 1 -> 2 gear: 2500 rpm and smooth. 2 -> 3 gear: 3000 - 3200 and fine movement. 3 -> 4 gear: changes at 40 mph, and I don't have much power to speed up. 4 ->5 gear: usually used on highways (sure), it has power to speed up more. All in all, I'm getting 20 mpg. The car definitely doesn't accelerate fast enough as other cars next to me at a stop light. There is squealing sound when shifting from "P" to "D" or "R". The thing is that, it's Not like rpm is 3000 and the speed doesn't pick up. What it is that, the rpm itself doesn't rise very fast, when I step the gas pedal deeper - also, that's when the fuel gauge drops noticeably. Also then, I still can't get enough speed to drive on first lane side on local roads. Liquid changed out to Honda ATF. All the fluids are on level with fine condition. Thank you for reading. I'm asking this because I need to drive 250 miles to New York in the near future. Is it possible to go back and forth that long miles like this?
