Do I need a resale license, and do I need to be charging tax to CALIF residents? Do I need to get a business license? What is the difference? I may be getting a 1099 from paypal which has to do with my income taxs, but does it also require a resale license? I pay tax when I buy from stores or other places, and my wholesaler is out of state. i am worried that down the road I will be told I should have been charging tax all along, and I owe XXXXX. I do not want to deal with tax, charging it, keeping track of it. I do not want to profit from it, but I certainly don't want to be doing anything that will get me in trouble or owe lots of money later. My understanding s that there is no law requiring a resale license for ecommerce sellers. I understand the perameters around having to have a resale have to do with a public store front, warehouse, or office. I operate from home. Am I correct in my assumptions, or am I completely wrong here. All knowledgeable responses grat;y appreciated.
