Is it normal for a parent to ground you for 2 weeks for such as forgetting to walk your dog?

I think it is perfectly normal. You need to take responsibility for your pets. If I forgot to take care of mine I had to pay the consequences.
I don't think your parents over-reacted at all. You probably begged and pleaded for the dog, and now, you"forget" or are to lazy to walk him. I have no sympathy for you. Take responsibility for the dog that you begged for and stop whining.
You'll be surprised at how strict parents are about dog walking. Its probably just because they're stressed out. They will probably forget soon this happened to my friend shai.
That is so stupid. What kind of parents would over react to such a thing. My parents would never get mad at me over something as ridiculous as that. You should tell then it isn't your fault you forget to walk the dog, not every human is perfect and can remember every single thing they have to do. Explain how they might accidentally forget to do small things, but they don't get punished for two weeks over it.
No that's the stupidest sentence I've read in my life. This will make you hate your parents more and get more agressive and even suffer from some sorts of depression which sounds like a joke but is actually 100% true
