The USMC has pride. Do it for the country, and for the people that you love.
You won't get rich money wise joining the Marine Corps! Joining the Marine Corps is about honor, integrity, service to country, being part of something bigger than yourself. And Marines come from all kind of backgrounds. Rich, poor, middle class, white, black, latino, asian, etc. In the Marine Corps were all one color....Green! The military gives you three hots and a cot, unless your in the field and your eating MRE's, and pay you on a scale determined by your rank. Everybody that joins the military has their own reasons. Some like myself had a great time and used it as a learning tool that led me into law enforcement after serving my time. Some people join the military and hate it. Use the military to your advantage. If you want to see the world, see the world. If you want to earn money for college, after getting an Honorable discharge the US Govt. helps pay for college with the GI Bill. For any young person, it's an adventure. The military will make a Man or Woman out of you. So, in my opinion, Yes it's worth it!
You don't join the military for just money. If you want a good life, learn an in-demand trade (plumbing, electrician...diesel mechanic, IT guy....) That's where the money is- because everyone else is paying for useless degrees and working at McDonalds with their PHD in plant languages.
If you are asking this question then it may not be worth it to you.
