Trying to decide between these two models. The Deere has a Briggs V Twin and the Ariens a Kohler V Twin. Same horsepower, etc.... Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I would go with the Ariens just because of the Kohler engine. I had a four month old Briggs Vangaurd blow up and the warranty wouldn't cover it. (Don't worry it was every well cared for) The tec came up with bs excuses and made crap that it was my fault. I previously had a Honda powered machine in the same situation that I used for years. I brought this to the techs attention and all he could say was "well that was a Honda". We than had to buy a new Briggs which was designed different and got a year out of it. In the end the Kohler 12 hp has been installed for two and a half years and is running strong. Sorry for the rant but that would be my deciding factor.
