Multiple Displays on Macbook Pro?

Posted at: 2014-06-09
When using multiple desktops on a macbook pro (2013 edition) is it possible to view one desktop on a monitor (via the hdmi port) and the other desktop on the retina display? I'm looking to be able to stream netflix on my monitor and also work on homework on my macs screen. Is this possible?
By Desktops I assume you mean the Mission Control extensions. Well with the new Mac OS X Mavericks, you can have seperate "desktops" per monitor. Connect your monitor and open System Preferences>Displays>Arrangment. Uncheck the box that says Mirror Displays. Now position the two monitors where you want them to "relatively" connect to each other. Drag the Netflix screen over to the monitor based on where you "arranged" them.
