I was at my grocery store and I saw Tulip bulbs that already sprouted in a glass vase. They haven't bloomed, so here's what I want to know: 1) On the label it says prolong life by keeping bulbs in cold temperature (in 32 degrees), how long do you think I could keep them from blooming if I were to keep them in cold temperature? 2) I want to them to be fully bloomed by November 20th (the 22nd is my sister's wedding), when do you think I could plant them/bring them out of the cold? 3) How do I plant them and keep them happy? 4) Any other advice to prolong their life? Especially if the bulbs were to bloom before the week of my November 20th I know this might be impossible but I want to try, it would be a really nice surprise :)
Right now it is Apr 10. So no way you can keep them till Nov 20. They are forced which means they will flower in the vase and that is that. You can plant them but the odds of them flowering again are slight. Usually tulip bulbs are sold around Sept the earliest and then you need to cold treat them for 6 weeks to get them to bloom in another maybe 4 weeks. So it is possible to have some for Nov 20. I would go to a local plant nursery, a real one not HD or Lowes or Walmart but a plant nursery and talk to them about it. They would be the best people to help you.
