The hamster (not sure what type or gender it is) was a gift from family friends to my step brother (he is 12 years old). I had not been in my bothers house for about almost a month because of how far it is. When i finally went over and saw the conditions on which the hamster was and I brought it home with me. The problem is that my brother has not cleaned the cage for about a month. He did not feed or give the hamster water for a whole week (god knows what else the hamster was neglected too). Both his side are now swollen, he cant really walk, his breathing is extremely fast and his eyes are very weak. The swelling on both side are not hard but feel like there is a lot of air inside (am not sure if that makes sense). He rolled over and couldn't turn back around and that's when i noticed that he has dropping that looked like hard chunks and he surrounding was watery. I really want to help it but I dontt really know what to do! What should I do???? (please be very specific)
Take him to a vet as quickly as possible. He has an infection, and he will die otherwise.
Ummmmmmm ever heard of that thing called the vet?
