WWI, Germany, Russia?

Posted at: 2014-06-09
Prior to and during WW I Germany was anti Communist and the king of Germany was related to the tsar of Russia. Why would Germany then want to send Lenin to Russia? What was the impact of this strategy? It's for my world history class and I can't really find anything on the matter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
All the European monarchs were related to each other in one way or another. But by the 19th and 20th centuries that really didn't affect their policies. By then they were sharing more and more power with at least some segment of the people, and besides, most of them did have at least some sense of duty to protect their own nation's interests as a higher priority than being nice to Cousin Willy or Cousin Nicky. It was in Germany's national interest to knock Russia out of the way one way or another. Sending a revolutionary over there to stir up trouble was one way of making the Russian government commit resources to internal security that would otherwise have been used to fight Germany.
Conspiracy my friend Conspiracy.........its real.............im serious...........
