Walking upstairs calories calculation?

Hi, I'm try to work out how many calories i can burn by climb up 5 stairs(about 15 meters) i'm about 100kg , 5 stairs about 15 metters by W=mgh , i can see: W= 100x9.81x15=14715 joules then i google joules to calories conversion it says: 1 joule = 0.239005736 calories then, does this mean .... 14715 x0.239005736 = 3516.96940524 calories? in my fitness experience, just can't burn that much 3000 calories that easy. So anyone tell me is there an error in my calculation? Thanks
You actually burn more than that. You lift your leg higher than the next step and make additional movements. But 1000 calories = 1 Calorie (nutritional calories spelled with a "C"). So, you "burn" a little over 3 Calories. You can't lose weight exercising. You'd have to climb 90 m to burn off a teaspoon of sugar, and 180 m for a teaspoon of fat.
