Ok, so I have pretty short hair. I have been growing it out for a while but it is still about an inch above my shoulders. I am thinking of getting professional extensions but one of the main reasons I am getting them is so I can put my hair up in a high ponytail again. I believe I could put most of it up with the extension but I'm worried the little baby hairs at the bottom in the back will still not go up. So I am wondering if this is true or the extensions will even get the baby hairs at the bottom.

I think the little baby hairs will fall down at the bottom, but you could use a little bit of wax, hair spray or gel to get them to slick up into the ponytail. Bobby pins would also help you with this :) good luck xx
The only way to find out is to try it. But honestly, I think it'd depend on where you put your extensions to be sure as to if the baby hairs would fall down. Good luck. :)
