I'm making some zucchini pickles and couldn't find fennel but I do have cumin and they look the same could i substitute the fennel for cumin?
Fennel and cumin are far apart on the spice compatibility chart.
No because fennel tastes way different than cumin. I mean, you could substitute if you really wanted to, but it would just taste different.
