Could possibly be a failing fuel pump. When my failed it did same thing. Eventually it can't keep up with the workload. Not a hard fix doing it yourself...about 300 dollars or so, but I would get a second opinion to be sure that this is the problem.
Depends on what vehicle you drive. If it has a distributer, the pip(profile ignition pickup)sensor may be faulty. As it ages, heat soak and vibration cause it to shut the vehicle down after warmup and short driving distances.A faulty ignition module is another ignition part that becomes a problem when engine heat warms it up.If you remove it Autozone can test it for free.A faulty ignition switch(not the ignition key lock cylinder)can cause engine shut down.A faulty MAP(manifold absolute pressure)sensor and crank position sensor also causes vehicle shut down.A TCC(torque converter clutch)solenoid will cause vehicle to stall but only when you're slowing down getting ready to come to a complete stop.Be sure to check all battery connections, alternater wiring, engine to battery grounds, engine to body grounds, and engine to frame grounds for loose or corroded connections.Check any fuses/relays related to ignition, fuel, and charging circuits for bent, loose,or corroded pins and check slots in panel2
Need more info! Year and make? How long before it restarts? What do you do to cause it to restart?
It could be that you are using the valet key. The valet key will only allow the car to operate for a short period, then the car automatically shuts down. Its anti theft protection. Try using another key.
