I am 19 years old and I am considering joining the military. I am very lost with the process to join the military, so I don't know exactly where to start. I have not taken the ASVAB yet, and am currently in my second semester of college, but will stop college after this semester if I decide to join the military. I know that certain branches require certain scores and other physical requirements. If it helps any, I am roughly 5'10", 125-130 pounds, and have a 21 ACT score. I am a male and I love film, interacting with others, and law. I am intrigued with the following jobs: ARMY JOBS -MULTIMEDIA ILLUSTRATOR (25M) -COMBAT DOCUMENTATION / PRODUCTION SPECIALIST (25V) -MILITARY POLICE (31B) MARINES JOBS -Military Police AIR FORCE JOBS -Security Forces Please advise me where to start, breaking the news to my parents, and if it sounds like I can make it in any of these jobs. Also feel free to share any information about your military experience if you feel it would help me learn more! Thank you so much and God Bless!
The first thing to do is talk to a recruiter. The media positions are good jobs, but highly sought after, it might be a year or more before a slot opens up and you can go in. There are more police and security jobs so those are easier to get in to.
