It can cure lung cancer. Surgery is not usually done unless they are trying to cure it, unless the patient is very young then they will do surgery even if it is locally advanced to try and prolong life.
Depends, sometimes both. It can prolong life and ease symptoms. If it's localized and removed then it can be cured but still will have to be closely monitored for the next 3-5 years will ct scans.
