It says, what is the first step to complete the square of: -2x^2 - 5x + 2 = 0 a) Subtract 2 from both sides b) Add 2 to both sides c) Divide each term by -2 d) Multiply each term by -2 I answered c) Divide each term by -2, but isn't a) also correct? Could you not first subtract 2 from both sides and then divide each term by -2? Thanks!
Yes, you are correct! It doesn't matter which of these two steps is done first or second. :)
