i'm just starting to get into painting, i've been sketching and stuff for years but recently someone motivated and convinced me to start painting my sketches. i want to start with acrylics, which brand should i buy? and also what kind of paper/pencil did this girl use here? it transferred to the wood and i need something like that
Brand-wise I mostly just buy whatever's cheapest. You can get Basic brand at Walmart, and it works okay as long as it doesn't get too old. (After a decade some of my less-used paint started separating.) Grumbacher is a bit better but still affordable. It's available at most craft stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby. As for the paper, it looked like it was just newsprint with a soft lead scribbled all over the back. That's probably the cheapest way to transfer an image, but I prefer transfer paper. It's like old-school carbon paper but way less messy.
