I am a Southern girl and I want to live in England one day. But I was wondering what the general feelings were towards Southerners. In America, we are often depicted two ways, as being poor and "trashy", which it is true that the south is more poverished than the north, or we have southern charm and sweet southern Belles; both are kind of true but mostly just stereotypes. I was just curious about what a person who is not from America thinks about us Southerners and what they are exposed to pertaining to our culture.
You have great accents and are polite and well mannered, somethings that we admire and appreciate
I know this is obviously a massive stereotype but the first thing that comes to mind are bible bashers.
