Flywheel seized?

Posted at: 2014-06-09
I just got my 350 th transmission rebuilt and when I put it back in I turned on my car and pulled it out into the driveway, turned it off to run inside quick and when I came back out it wouldn't turn over. at first I thought it was the starter until I tried to turn the fly wheel and the drive shaft and neither would budge... At this point I have no clue why this is happening... Any pointers?
Remember that the torqueconverter is the fluid coupling between the motor and tranny! Remove the flywheel cover and check to be sure all the torqueconverter bolts are tightened properly. I have seen where a bolt came out and jammed against the flywheel ringgear. If everything looks OK, then the torqueconverter or tranny may be defective. The next thing, then would be to remove all the torqueconverter bolts and verify that the flywheel will turn. DO NOT TRY TO START!! Move the fly wheel by hand or use a screwdriver or prybar. If it turns OK, then something is wrong with the tranny or converter.
I took a box Ed wrench to one of the three bolts holding the fly wheel to the toque converter and tried turning it while it was in neutral
How did you try and turn the flywheel, which is inside of the the bell housing?
