Rebooting too much your tablet can damage it. I recommend you do not hold the on/off bottom for more than 5-6 seconds at the time and that you insist every 15 seconds apart to play it safe. Once you get it to work to avoid freezing, keep the memory low. That is get rid of the apps you do not use, get rid of all cache going one by one in the Setting-Apps. If that does not work, and is better than buying a new one, go in Settings to Recovery mode and get your tablet to factory reset choosing carefully the apps you download. Make sure you only use market app going to Security and click off not to allow installation of non-market place. When this is open, many apps and download with enter without permission causing your tablet and other apps to misbehave. Always leave a 60-40% of free memory space, since many app can take a load to operate and hold files. If ain't broke don't fix it. Do not update apps you are happy with and are working just fine. The add up to memory space. Be patient.
