How to prevent a relapse of lyme disease in horses?

Posted at: 2014-06-09
My horse was recently diagnosed with lyme disease... for the third time. He was first diagnosed with it when he started showing signs of irritability about a month after I got him. Now, three years later, it has come back again and it is incredibly frustrating to know that we can't get rid of it. :( Does anyone have any tips or ideas on how I can prevent these relapses? We are in the process of ordering his antibiotics, but now I can't work with him or ride him for another two months... please help!
You should give your horse fly spray to help protect against ticks because ticks are the source of Lyme disease. Also I would recommend checking him for ticks every day. Ask your vet if they provide a killed virus vaccine of Lyme disease for your horse. To help immune and fight against it next time. But best to do is keep ticks off horse. There are some sprays out there that work very we'll like Pryanha Wipe in Spray. I use it on my horse daily during summer and never catch flys on my horse nor ticks like I used to. I highly reccomend this. The place I purchase it from is horse.com And you may wanna hurry it's on sale all insect things are for horses at this place since it's spring time
