I want my dog to be happy, but I'm not sure he is?

He is a 2 year old Rottweiler Labrador mix. We got him from he spca when he was about 1 and 4 months. Ever since than I have been trying to give him the best life ever since I knew his life before us was very challenging. For awhile I thought he was the happiest dog in the world and was spoiled rotten. Recently I was doing research on toys that dogs love and can withstand the jaws of a rotti. I came across an article that said the licking of the nose or lips means the dog is stressed or unhappy. I was so disappointed. I noticed tons of lip licking and nose licking. This is his current life: Diet-dry and wet food mixed as well as a raw meaty bone twice a month. Toys-2 kongs, kong ball, kong football, tug a war rope, tennis balls, and the very occasional stuffed animal for Christmas and birthday. Exercise weekdays- I take him for a 10-20 minute early in the morning, long 2 hour "outing"- could be a game of fetch in the park, a long walk, or playing with the neighbourhood dog- around noon, and an hour walk after school, most nights not all a night walk. All walks are without leash. Please tell me what I can change or add. Also you should know he is never left home alone. My mom can work on her computer from home. Also all walks are done without leash except for the morning walk since I'm in a bit of a hurry to get to school. Also he is very well trained not a big resource guarded except with other dogs. He can be a bit scared of people sometimes s now okay.
I don't really think its true that if your dog licks his/ hers nose or lip its unhappy... My dog does it all the time and he's still wagging his tail and running around playing all day so no need to worry your dogs very happy with u :)
