I want to drive all of mullholand, I would think my easiest way would be to start at either the pch Malibu entrance and go from west to east or starting at the eastern end and going west to pch. I'm asking which one would be better? I live closer to Hollywood. And also would it just be easier driving from the 405 to the 101 and then turning around and then heading towards Malibu? I'm leaving around 6 and I've never driven mulholand before but frequently drive on mountain roads
I don't believe you can drive the whole thing. It is blocked and turned into a dirt road in some parts. But you can try it.

If you live in Hollywood, obviously you can take the Hollywood freeway 101 exit at Barham, at get over to the Cahuenga Blvd. side, turn left heading south and you will see the east entrance (6707 Mulholland Drive) and drive from there all the way to Malibu to your pleasure. You can also check for road conditions or dial 511 on your cell.
