I've been trying to solve this problem below and I know my answer is incorrect. PROBLEM: Of Maria's total salary, goes to taxes and of what remains goes to food, rent, and bills. If she is left with $300 each month, what is her total monthly salary? My Work: I feel that 87% or 13/15 of the salary is lost leaving $300. And then if $300 is left over then that's 13% of her salary. So .13n=300 and n=$2,307.69. I think I'm not reading the problem correctly or I'm just not understanding what it's asking for.
