So I recently just finished writing a novel that I've been working on for a couple of months and I would like to get it published (traditional publishing). Since I obviously have no clue how the process works I would like some help. If anyone can give me information and/or tips on publishing that would be a great help. It would be even better if someone, who has published their own story, told me the steps to publishing a book. Information about my novel: Genre: adventure/action/supernatural/thriller -- Historical fiction Word count: 30,000 words [exact] -- 113 pages (It's a story about vampires, werewolves and witches, but don't worry it's nothing like Twilight) Thank you.
If you want to get it published the traditional way, it's too short. Middle grade books should be 40k to 60k, young adult 60k to 80k, and adult 80k to 100k. Don't try to pad this one, as that rarely works. Write another book that's more involved and complex to start with.
