Rental Loss - should I file Form 8582?

Posted at: 2014-06-09
I'm filing my 2013 tax as married filing-jointly. I have an AGI over 100K and I have 2 rental properties. I made net income of $3714 (rental all 12 months) and a loss of $6274 on the 2nd property. The 2nd property was my primary residence till March 2013 and I moved to my new house and successfully rented it by mid-2013 after some repairs, etc. Now, do I need to file Form 8582? Thank you for your time
To preserve the loss, you need form 8582.
rental losses in excess of $25K are recorded on that form and it is not submitted with your 1040, it is your record of the passive losses you accumulate each year
