I'm a girl, 22 years old with a clean record, no speeding tickets or anything. then I got pulled over and blew a .21 and got a first offense dui. I have a lawyer. I know the mandatory jail time is ten days for VA , but can the lawyer knock that off or lower it?? And does VA jail do day for day in jail? I've heard ten days would technically be five. I made a huge mistake and if you can't say anything nice then don't comment please. I've learned my lesson.
You most likely won't go to jail but you'll lose your license for several months, you will see a probation officer and do EXACTLY what they say to do. Follow everything to the letter and you'll finish out your sentence. Don't do it and you will go to jail for 10 days which will technically be 10 days. Make sure to read ALL paperwork given to you.
