Hi so I intend to visit Greece in June/July(not sure yet) to visit a very close friend of mine. The thing is that I'm an international student in the States right now and my vacations will start from June 11 and will end on August 24. I also have to visit my homecountry but I don't know where I should go first. Greece or home? Also, could you tell me of reasonable hotels in Athens? I'll be there for a month and I'm giving my friend a surprise so I can't ask him to help me out :s I'm actually pretty freaked out because I don't know whether I have to apply for a visa from my home country or if I can do it from here too. Thanks in advance!
If your passport is one of the countries that are requiring visa, see link below, you can apply to the closest consulate in US to be issued one. Now, regarding hotels, it would have been good to give us the district your griend lives in so we could suggest hotels close to it. On the second link you can find lists of hotels. If you can ascertain the district then you can find one close. However, in downtown Athens there is a great number with prices varying from cheap to very expensive.
