I wrecked my truck last year. Was the only one involved so was deemed at fault. After 8k of damage i got it back. I dont know why my insurance didnt total the vehicle. The air bag deployed and the frame was welded. What can i do? I cant get diminished value because its a first larty claim ....so am i hopeless? I dont want to trade it in and be upside down 15k negitive equity
its litterly worth half of what it was even selling it privately once they run a chk on the truck, no one will give you the value of the truck. Your stuck. pay it off and drive it till it dies. 8k worth of damge is really not that much. to total the rig the damge would have had to equal over half of the value. If you had the work done at a good shop the frame damage is no big thing. I have seen a car that has been welded together from 2 cars after an accident. A good shop can do wonderous things.But with a new rig like this people will look at what was done and freak out about buying it.Sorry for your dilema.
