I try to minimize the amount of sugar I consume on a day to day bases although it's tough as I have a sweet tooth. The perfect antidote for energy is peanut butter.
Eat natural sugar like dates. high in sugar. honey.do regular exercise that you enjoy that way you'll keep it up. go swimming.
They cut out refined sugar but still got plenty of natural sugars with their diet, no real surprise as they were probably on a much healthier diet :)
