There's this place I used to go every summer with my church youth group before I moved 500 miles away. I moved about a month and a half ago. Well, in June my church goes to the camp again for 5 days. It's absolutely amazing. You have a real connection with yourself, and god. You get to spend 5 days having fun with friends. Basically, my dad and his wife still live in my home state, so if I went, I wouldn't be too far away from a guardian. My mom is totally okay with me going. However, my step father doesn't want to have to go on the plane with me. Money is not an issue whatsoever. How do I get my step dad to agree? Sorry this was so long. TLDR; I want to go to a church camp(that I went to 3 timesbefore I moved) that's 10 hours away. My moms cool with it. My dad's cool with it. My step dad just doesn't want to fly up with me, as I can't fly on an airplane alone under 18. Money isn't a problem. I'm 15 and male, by the way. Very responsible and I have a great education.
If you can have someone meet you at the airport, you can ride alone on the plane, Teenagers do it everyday. it may have to be first class but it is still doable. Check out the airport in your area and research it. Then state the facts to your mom and step father. Good luck
You could fly as an unaccompanied minor. It's legal, no one would have to go with you. I once flew from Florida back to Ohio alone when I was just 13. http://www.familyvacationcritic.com/unaccompanied-minors-rules-and-regulations/art/?eng=FVCSEM&kw=_cat:familyvacationcritic.com&gclid=CLTzoM-u170CFYhaMgod3mUAxg You can find the rules for different air lines here.
Talk to your mom into getting your step dad to let you go. If your mother and father are okay with it, then he should be. If he can't go, have you found out if your mom/dad could go with you? Or another adult friend?
