That's just one of a stable of "mascots" used by Geico primarily to help make the name more memorable, these are really Branding campaigns who's content is not tailored for a particular demographic other than people with a sense of humor. Many TV ads are not 'selling' the product, rather they are attempting to program the brand name into your mind, so it's the first you think of when you do need such a product.
