My kittens have been on this for a while and I was getting cost worried and wasn't sure if it was perfect since it wasn't AAFCO approved. I've been talking with my vet and they never heard of it. since I have a couple kittens and I was trying to transition them to the kitten food since my older cats are on special foods or diets I though maybe its time I start giving them food that is good for them. One of my kittens literally upchucked her entire weight it seems the other day. Its all mixed in and they still get the old food but I feel that maybe her system just doesn't want to take anything else. I'm not good with nutrition stuff and I've never death with multiple kittens or different ages. Before people get all upset we took in the babies of a stray and were never able to adopt them out. All in all I want my babies to live a healthy, uneventful life. So is this a good decent food or is it better to go bigger name brands?
Quick nutrition lesson - cats are obligate carnivores. That means they eat meat, and have little to no need for carbohydrates in their diet. They also should have canned food, at least for one meal a day. What makes a quality food? It's not brand name, it's ingredients. The first ingredient should be a real, named meat source (Chicken, not "meat"). It should not contain corn, wheat or soy. It should not have by-products - that's the scrap condemned from the human food chain and can contain diseased and spoiled meat. It's a low-quality source of protein. But read about cat nutrition from an expert in the subject: Think of a proper diet as an investment in the future health of your kittens.
