I'm 17. Almost my whole life I have been in cheer. I had to quit my middle school years since, I got a cyst on my wrist. I was kinda of flexible but now I can't even do splits or tilt. It's been 5yrs since I actually been in cheer. I work out though. My question is, is it to late to join ballet and hiphop? I wanted to join ballet, to learn how to do turn, spilts and tilt, because for hiphop you kind of need that at times. If it's not to late, how long will it take for me to actually get to compete and stuff? I know I won't become pro because it's to late.
It's never too late to start dance. Whether or not it's too late to start competing depends on the studio your planning on going to. At most studios you have to start at level one and the teacher puts you in competitive if she thinks your good enough. Other studios make you audition. But I think that is you work really hard, practice, and are dedicated to dance your most likely to compete. It might take two or three years though. Hope this helped.
