My doctor and nurse said they were almost positive I had mono. All my friends who have had it say all my symptoms are exactly the same (severe fatigue, left abdominal pain, dizziness, sore throat, dry mouth, headaches, feverish, difficulty swallowing, etc) but when my blood tests came back, it was negative. I've felt this way for a couple weeks and it's just gotten worse and worse. To the point where I'm exhausted walking from one class to the next. And by the time I get home from school, I fall asleep. Shoes on and everything. I can't stay awake. I feel so sick, and I was really counting on this mono test to finally diagnose me, but it came back negative!!! Is there a chance I could still have it? I'm in a lot of pain and it's getting ridiculous. I know they can't diagnose on here, but has anyone ever had anything similar happen or know anything about this stuff? Much appreciated (:
If you are testing early on, your test is usually negative. You probably have mono with a false negative. The only problem is that even if you do have it, they cannot do much for you, so just stay at home, rest, and maintain liquid intake. Warm chicken broth helps. If you want a more effective treatment, cut a bit of ginger and boil it with some sugar to help with the taste. Don't do that if you hate really funny tastes.
