Me and my wife filed forms I-485 and I-130 jointly. We have received a request for further information for the affidavit of support, asking to prove we are 125% over the poverty line. I think the amount my wife earned previously placed us below the poverty line as she was at college. Since the time we filed we have completed our tax returns for 2013. In 2013 my wife earned $35,000, but we did not provide this income in our initial filling as we had not completed our taxes. If we provide her tax returns will this be sufficient to prove that we are above the poverty line. In addition, I am currently working under an F1-OPT visa and earned a salary of $40,000 in 2013. Should I include this information. Is there anything else apart from tax returns we should include paystubs etc.
Just submit your jointly filed income tax return for 2013, showing your updated income. Your wife's income alone would be sufficient, but since your income derives from a US source, and the jointly filed income tax return also counts as important evidence of a bona fide marriage, this will be more than sufficient and shut 'em up for good.
