My buddy as a Yamaha PW80. We are not sure on the age but its between 95-2001. Now the problem is that when you start it, it immediately goes right to full throttle and sounds like its gonna blow up. Choke on or off it does this, pull the throttle and let it go nothing happens, and if you put it in gear it stays high idle and takes off! We've had a few people say that it is because the float is too high so too much air is entering the carb causing it to do this. I have been trying to get the bowl off to get to the float...but the bowl won't come off...If you have any suggestions as to how the hell to drop the bowl off without smashing it or if you have another idea on what is causing this insane idle problem PLEASE SHARE! Thank you.
STOP! The THROTTLE CABLE is binding up or if someone F-ed with the carb slider it's in backwards.
