I just got offered a job in NorthEast Philadelphia near the airport. I plan on this being a long term career and therefore would like to start looking for a place I could buy a house/land and really live my life. I don't mind a commute, 30 minutes or so really isn't a big deal. I want a nice community, but mostly I want some land. Any suggestions on where I should start my search? I'm not ready to talk to a realtor, I like to do my own research first, but since I don't know this area at all, I am asking you =)
Philadelphia is an old city. Its inner suburbs are quite old as well. So it has been heavily built up for over a century now. So land will be expensive. Any cheap land will be at least an hour drive from the city.
