I work for a private Security company, G4s, and I received word that my mom is sick, and have to be near her. Thing is, I'm in California, and she is in Texas. I love working for the company, as I been in for almost a year. Can I get a job transfer from California to Texas so I can be near my mother?
The company CAN'T be required to transfer you. As you don't mention the company, we don't even know if they operate in Texas. You best option is to ASK your employer if you can transfer to wherever in Texas you wish to move. Assuming you are a good employee, they should be willing to consider you for a transfer to any open position. At the very least, they may offer to provide a recommendation to a similar company in Texas.
