If you have had LASIK, the edge of the flap may be visible for the rest of your life. This can be see if it is looked for with a slit lamp. Most people who have had refractive surgery will have very flat corneas. This could be measured with a keratometer. Many offices have a corneal topographer. With this device, you could say without a doubt if someone had PRK of LASIK.
It will be written in your records, and they would be the one referring you to laser surgery in the first place. They may or may not be able to see it physically, unless your cornea is very flat after the surgery.
