My air bag light is on. Its a 2000 Chevy impala base and I've ran the tech 2 computer with it and ive got 2 codes. B0026 and B0041. Driver side frontal deployment loop open and LF deployment loop open. And cruise control does not work. I've pressed the "activate" button on the steering wheel but no luck. There's a Switch on the turn signal lever and it still doesn't work when ever I turn the switch to on and off. Fuses are fine.
Need to diagnose the problem &see if they are related &where the issue is at. Cant help you online with this, this needs to go to the Chevy Dealership or to a repair shop that knows what they are doing Can be an open in the harness inside the column or can be 2 different issues &not related. Usually SIR system connectors tend to cause "FRETTING" which is a type of corrosion that forms from the lack of connector ever being disconnected at all. Usually unplugging &reconnecting that affected connector can temporary fix that issue if that is indeed what is wrong with the SIR system. Has it ever been in a wreck in which the Air bags deployed?? Most people dont pay any attention to the melted connector on the clockspring
