The siding has already been painted about 4 years ago, but has gotten very chaulky with some nail heads rusting through. Hardiplank does not recommend the alkyd oil based primer for initial painting. The painter that I may use has used this primer on several jobs and has had great results. I am just a bit concerned because it is not recommended on the initial paint job for cement fiber board.
