Hello. At my university, I am needing a biological science requirement to satisfy this area of my general education. While viewing my degree audit, it said I could enroll in either Environmental Life Science or General Biology. As I was enrolling today, it said I couldn't enroll in General Biology because it is only availablr to certain majora such as Biology, Chemistry, Nursing, etc. I didn't think this was right. I e-mailed my school's main enrollment office and asked why. They politely e-mailed me back and told me the biology department has this class reserved only to these majors because Gen. Biology is required for all of these majors I just listed. In other words, I suppose the Biology department has a limited amount of seats available. The individual who e-mailed me said I could e-mail the Biology Department chair to meet my individual circumstances if there wasn't an Environmental Life Science course available for me at the times listed to take. To be honest, I don't want to take Environmental Life Science. I'm not interested in it. I would rather take General Biology. They have plenty of open seats, so I wouldn't see why they couldn't let me in. I'm paying for my education anyways, so I might as well take something I'm interested in. What should I e-mail the biology chair about this situation even though time isn't an issue?
