I was using pliers in school during a break to bend metal rings I was using to make chain mail and a teacher confiscated them. They were small pliers (5-6 inches) and no where in the Code of Student Conduct in my county says that tools of this type are prohibited since they are not a simulated weapon or part of the extensive list of prohibited items in school. Can I still get in trouble considering that I was using these 2 pliers during a break, when no classes were taking place, that they were small pliers, and I was using them for a legitimate reason?
So what's your legitimate reason? Talk it over with the principal or someone else with authority at your school.
