Okay pretend you had 3.00$ and it's 10% higher. How do you make something 10% higher? How do you make something 5% higher? Please help.
3*10/100=3*1/10=3/10 =0.30 so 3.30 its 10% more than 3 ...% means 100 so 10%=10/100 ( its a fraction )so 100% of 1 its 1 90%of 1 its 0.90 etc you have to divide one in 100 im not a teacher so its difficult to explain
You either find what 10% would be and add it to the original, or else add 10% to 100% getting 110% and find 110% of the original. 10/100 = x/3.00 cross multiply 100x = 30.00 x = 30.00
