What TWO things drive us with respect to choosing our beliefs? i. laziness to test our hypotheses ii. desire to know the truth iii. fear of falling into error iv. doubt that we will find answers
I don't think that most people choose their beliefs. They take on the beliefs of their families. And I think all four answer choices kind of suck.
none of the above. My beliefs change depending on what I need to feel at peace with at the moment. I don't always believe the same thing. I continue to grow until I have reached absolute peace within. I have no desire to know the absolute truth. I have no fear of hell or being wrong. Peace within is the only thing I desire.
1 We choose to believe what we want to believe, or what helps us to get what we want. 2 We often believe what fits in with what we, and other people around us, believe. That's what I believe: )
Desire to know the truth is all we need. The rest comes from above. What Is The Meaning Of Life?
What TWO things drive us with respect to choosing our beliefs? ~~~ Sorry, hon, but no one 'chooses' a 'belief'! There is no 'choice'! I'm not going to spend the time here/now to walk you through the whole thing, but the punch-line is that 'free-will/choice' only exists in the vanity of the imagination! Ego is thought, imagination! It is also the judgment and discrimination that launched your 'question'! Ego is (the insanity of) 'duality', the 'I'm right/you aren't' mentality...
