Do you like musicals? You could talk about Broadway. Modeling and publishing are also big things there, so if either of those interest you, you could mention those. If it's a more serious speech, you could talk about all the crime and poverty. I think what some people like about the city is that it's viewed as a place where rags-to-riches dreams can come true. That sense of opportunity and anything-can-happen makes it a dream for some people. This reminds me of that song "N.Y.C." in "Annie" where they all sing about the amazing things in New York. Maybe watch that for inspiration? Maybe you could use a quote from it as an introduction to your speech or something. Good luck!
